Why I started FinRev Collective
"After more than 15 years in sales and revenue leadership roles across fintech startups, I kept running into the same problem: there was no real home for people like us."
Berlin – and much of Europe – has some incredible communities for founders, product managers, and tech leaders. But for English-speaking sales and marketing leaders in fintech, the story is very different. Most “clubs” are either focused on tech, or they operate mainly in German, leaving many of us without a seat at the table.
And here’s the truth: commercial teams are often undervalued in fintech startups.
We're brought in late, seen as a “necessary function,” but rarely as a strategic growth engine. We take the hits when revenue targets aren’t met, face aggression from all sides, and are often pitted against each other because our companies make us territorial and competitive.
There was no safe, supportive space for us to share challenges, learn from each other, or even admit how hard this job can be.
So I created FinRev Collective. This isn’t just another networking group, but a community built for sales and marketing leaders in fintech who are tired of going it alone. A space where we can drop the armor, share real experiences, learn faster together, make warm introductions, and reclaim the importance of what we do for fintech startups to truly thrive.
FinRev Collective exists to break down barriers, build trust, and foster collaboration among revenue leaders across Europe. Because when sales and marketing are empowered, fintech moves forward.
